Getting to Caen (Ouistreham) port

The newest ferry-port on the Channel, Ouistreham is just 15 kilometres north of Caen.

By car

The terminal is well sign-posted from the main access routes around Caen as "CAR FERRY". The autoroute is close to the port and offers easy access to Paris, the Loire, the south, and Brittany. Take the N175 to Mont St Michel and Brittany. The N13 connects Caen to Bayeux and Cherbourg, and the N158 leads to Le Mans and the Loire Valley.

By taxi

There are usually taxis waiting outside the terminal for ship arrivals and departures. If there are no taxis, the tourist information desk can call a taxi for you.
Taxi fares from the terminal to Caen train station range from 30€ during the day (7am to 7pm) to 40€ in the evening (7pm to 7am).

By train

The nearest railway station is in Caen, about 18km from the port. Regular services depart from Caen train station and a direct TGV service operates to Paris St Lazare, with the fastest service only taking 1 hour and 48 minutes.

By bus

There is a bus service between Ouistreham and Caen. This service does not run for evening ferry arrivals or departures. The vehicles used for this service are not adapted for disabled travellers. Route 61 takes you to Caen City Centre and buses depart about 500 yards from the terminal. Timetables and further details can be found here
